May We Bug You? Making Insects Your Next Big Hobby

Do butterflies make your heart flutter? Do you thrill at the sound of a cicada chorus? Or have you been afraid of bugs your whole life and are wondering what it might take to change your mind?

Join Fields Falcone and Melissa McMasters of Overton Park Conservancy and Allie Mounce of Pretty Useful Co. for an evening of celebrating all things six-legged. They’ll share how they fell in love with bugs, what they’ve learned by observing them, and how they try to make a healthier world for them. Dr. Malle Carrasco-Harris will also be on hand sharing some of the insects she's collected and mounted. We’ll also have Squirrel Tale Whiskey tastings by Old Dominick and bug-themed snacks. 

Tickets are $35. Proceeds will benefit Overton Park Conservancy’s work to create and preserve habitat for pollinators and other insects.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2011. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.

The Conservancy must raise roughly 90% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
