Spring into Creativity with Nature Journaling!

Join the Overton Park Conservancy and Memphis artist Susan Maakestad for a transformative four-week Senior Nature Journaling workshop this spring!

Course Highlights:

  • Kick-off Session: Start with an engaging indoor session to introduce concepts and techniques.
  • Outdoor Exploration: For the next three weeks, we’ll venture into the Old Forest and other green spaces within Overton Park.
  • Combine Art and Science: Gain a deeper appreciation for flowers, trees, and other plants as you merge artistic expression with scientific observation.

All participants will receive paper and recording supplies such as pencils, watercolors, and colored pencils. Participants are welcome to bring their own favorite notebooks and journaling tools!

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.

The Conservancy must raise roughly 90% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
