About This Event
Join us on Saturday, May 9, at the Abe Goodman Golf Clubhouse in Overton Park for an evening celebrating Squirrel Tale, Old Dominick Distillery’s newest collaborative whiskey, created in partnership with Overton Park Conservancy and Overton Park 9.
The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a guided cocktail-making class, where you’ll learn to craft two exclusive Squirrel Tale cocktails while hearing the story behind this distinctive whiskey. Whether you’re a seasoned home bartender or simply enjoy a well-made drink, you’ll leave with new skills and a new favorite recipe.
You’ll hear from Overton Park Conservancy’s Dr. Eric Bridges, an expert in urban forestry, who will share the vital role of oak trees in old forest ecosystems and their essential influence on the character and craft of whiskey. He’ll be joined by Chris Canale, President of Old Dominick Distillery, who together with his cousin Alex Canale revived the historic Memphis distillery founded by their great-great grandfather.
Raise a glass, learn something new, and enjoy a memorable evening with us!

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.
The Conservancy must raise roughly 90% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
