About This Event
Tracks and Signs: A Naturalist's Exploration of the Forest
Step into the hidden world of insects and invertebrates with magnifying glass in hand during this month's Third Thursday Trek.
Join us for a leisurely walk through the Old Forest as we slow down and search for the remarkable evidence of tiny lives all around us. We'll hunt for insect eggs, feeding signs, galls, leaf mines, webs, cocoons, droppings, and shelters, learning to read the forest like a naturalist.
Come curious and with a willingness to get close to the mysterious!
Inspired by "Tracks and Signs of Insects and Other Invertebrates" by Charley Eiseman and Noah Charney.
This program will be held on natural surface trails, limestone trails, and pavement surfaces.
This event is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested contribution of $5 per person. Registration opens 1 week in advance.
By registering and attending this event, you agree to our Waiver and Release Agreement.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.
The Conservancy must raise roughly 90% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
