Op Eagle Memorial Day Weekend Event

Registration has ended

About This Event

THANK YOU!

You have taken the first step to helping Veteran Service Corps make Op Eagle's Memorial Day event a success. By volunteering you are agreeing to the following:

To Arrive in Promise, SD, by Friday Night, May 25, 2018

You are staying until Tuesday, May 29, 2018 (or longer if arrangements are made with VSC).
You will be required to eat dinner as a group, to build the community and camaraderie that is our core foundation.

You should be able to put in at least one full day worth of work, some physical, some not, we can make special arrangements if you let us know.

Bring with you a sleeping bag and pillow as we will be billeted in GP Tents (unless the Bunkhouses are finished). We will provide all of the other items for sleeping.

On Saturday, we will form working parties to go to the cemeteries and clean them up. This will include raking, weed whacking, basic landscaping, etc. We will provide all the tools.

On Sunday there will be ceremonies and prep for Monday's Events. We will have to make sure the best routes are planned, the proper number of flowers are sent with each Honor Guard detail, and the uniform of the day is set.

As a volunteer for the full weekend you will receive a black VSC polo. Please bring with you a comfortable pair of Black shoes or boots and a pair of tan Khaki slacks for Monday's ceremonies. This is the Uniform of the Day.

Should the fund-raising be good, it is our plan to reimburse your travel expenses. Please keep your travel receipts.

VSC will cover room and board.

We will be sending out a full brief 3 weeks before the event with all the travel information and detailed directions.
