of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Our intention is to honor the men and women who lost their lives
in the attacks on September 11, 2001
through a meaningful set of exercise and time with our community.

Online registration will close on 9/12/26
but participants are welcome to register at the door! 

Post-event BBQ generously hosted by the Huntington Beach Fire Association.

honoring the stairs of the World Trade Center


2,763 Yard Walk/Run:
honoring the lives lost at The World Trade Center


44 Push Ups:
honoring those on Flight 93


189 Second Plank Hold:
honoring the lives lost at the Pentagon

 

343 Yard Fire Hose Drag:
in honor of the Fire and EMS personnel

 

60 Burpees:

What is the event for?
It's an event to honor the men and women who lost their lives in the attacks on September 11, 2001.  
Where is the event?
The event is held at Huntington Beach High School's football stadium, Shue Field, from 8am to 1pm.
Who participates?
Everyone!  This event is family-friendly, for people of all ages!  Participants include families, children, first responders, veterans, HBHS students, and more, all from the community we live in.  
Where do the donations go?
Ticket sales and donations support OpenWater, a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and wellness of every First Responder, Veteran, and their families, through unique training programs, fellowship, and open water experiences.
What happens at the event?
Check-in is at 8am.  Sponsor booths and merchandise booths will be open at 8a.  The event kicks off with a short ceremony at 8:45am, when the event begins with a meaningful set of exercise and time with our community.  (These exercises include running/walking, a stair climb on the bleachers, pushups, burpees, planks, and fire hose pulls.  All of which you can modify!)  It's lots of fun with many people from the community cheering you on.  After you finish the challenge there is a BBQ hosted by HB Fire Association.  The BBQ will wrap up around 1pm.
Can I come if I don't do the exercises?
YES! Please come and cheer us and others on!  Your energy will help us complete the challenge!
