About This Event

The United MSD Foundation's 2025 Pop-Up Zebra Run for Rare Disease is a 1-mile Fun Run for people of all ages. We're excited to welcome participants from all walks of life to our event, including families, out-of-town guests, and corporate groups that want to enjoy the festivities as a team-building event!

All proceeds from the annual Zebra Run benefit the United MSD Foundation whose mission is to cure Multiple Sulfatase Deficiency, a rare genetic disease impacting children. Due to this community's generous support, first in-human clinical trials for gene therapy will tentively start in the fall of 2025.

About Us

Amber Olsen is a NEXTAFF Franchise owner, located in Ocean Springs, MS. In 2016, Amber's daughter, Willow, was diagnosed with Multiple Sulfatase Deficiency (MSD). MSD leaves a child's body unable to process the natural cellular waste made in normal everyday organ functions. This is fatal disease with no current treatment or cure. After Willow's diagnosis, Amber was determined to fight this disease in every possible way. After meeting with researchers, doctors, and other families dealing with MSD from all over the world; Amber established the United MSD Foundation. What once was an all-volunteer organization is now a full-fledged foundation with staff who support families in 19 different countries and invest in ground-breaking research. We continue to share in Amber's original mission - to cure Multiple Sulfatase Deficiency
