Beaver Full Moon Hike

Registration ends Tuesday, 11/24/2026 4:00pm EDT

About This Event

Experience the magic of the full moon on a crisp November evening with Lacawac Sanctuary’s Beaver Full Moon Hike. As the moon rises over our scenic trails and lakes, join our knowledgeable naturalists for a guided walk exploring the signs of local wildlife, especially the industrious beavers, and discover how these remarkable creatures shape our ecosystem. Participants will learn about nocturnal wildlife, local ecology, and the unique behaviors of beavers while enjoying the calm, moonlit forest. This hike offers an opportunity to connect with nature, engage your senses, and witness the beauty of Lacawac at night.

Important note: Is this hike right for you? To ensure a safe experience for everyone, please be aware that this night hike covers approximately 2.5 miles over an advanced trail featuring elevation changes, gravel, and uneven footing in low-light conditions. As a result, it may not be suitable for participants with mobility limitations.

Date: Tuesday, November 24, 2026
Time: 6-8pm
Cost: FREE
Location: Please meet at William E. Chatlos Environmental Education Center - drive 1/2 mile past the second set of gates once you arrive on Lacawac's property.

While many of our programs and hikes are offered free of charge, Lacawac Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations to make this programming possible. If you are able, please consider adding even a small donation when you register to help support our environmental education efforts.
