Vulnerable Christian girls in Pakistan are being abducted and forced to marry Muslim men. Too often, the courts fail to protect them. Stand with ICC as we help them escape and provide the safe shelter, legal support, and care they need to break this cycle for good.

Huma Younus, 14

On October 10, 2019, then-14-year-old Huma Younus was taken from her home in Karachi while her parents were away. She was abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and coerced into marrying her captor, Abdul Jabbar. Despite her family’s desperate attempts to seek justice, the courts turned a blind eye to her suffering, and her whereabouts are unknown.

Laiba's father says she was abducted by a 40-year-old man practicing polygamy with three wives. Her captor declined to hand the girl over to her parents, arguing that she had converted her to Islam and, therefore, she could not be returned to her Christian parents.

Farah Shaheen, 12

In June 2020, Farah Shaheen, a 12-year-old Christian girl, was forcefully abducted from Faisalabad by a 45-year-old man named Khizar Ahmad Ali. He compelled her to convert to Islam, married her against her will, and then shackled and confined her within a cattle pen under deplorable working conditions.
