ParkinsonWISE® II: Info, Tips, and Practical Advice for Parkinson's Care Partners

About This Event

The ParkinsonWISE® for Care Partners program was developed specifically for care partners of individuals with Parkinson's disease (spouses, partners, parents, children, friends, in-home caregivers, etc.).

Caring for a person with PD can be both rewarding and challenging. The goal of this free 2-hour program is to provide enhanced knowledge of the disease, tools to help support your caregiving efforts, and provide a renewed sense of compassion for both your loved one with Parkinson's and yourself as you experience this disease together. New to experienced care partners will gain insight and helpful tips.

Instructed by Jeanine Perry, PT (retired, Kaiser Permanente) and developed by medical professionals with expertise in Parkinson's disease from Kaiser, UC Davis, Sutter, and Dignity Health systems.

Currently scheduled in Elk Grove, Folsom, Sacramento, Redding, Santa Rosa, Roseville, Davis, Citrus Heights, and Zoom (online). Classroom style training includes discussion and video components. Topics include:

  • Pathology of PD
  • Motor symptoms
  • Non-motor symptoms (including psychology)
  • Deep Brain Stimulation
  • Medications
  • Safety and fall prevention
  • Exercise
  • Transfers
  • Q&A
  • Resources
  • And more

Check your spam and junk email files if you don't immediately see an email confirmation after registering. You will receive a reminder email a couple of days before the training with the location details.

This program was made possible by a grant from the Arthur Rupe Foundation.
