Take a walk through history! Join Chris Reid, on a guided tour through the historic and unique Florence Cemetery to learn the stories of some of the earliest settlers and assorted characters and notable Florence residents. See graves of cowboys, a Civil War soldier, to a man buried between his first and second wives. Visit the grave with the earliest tombstone date of birth, Nov 1, 1791. See the range of the simplest to the most ornate resting places. As odd as it may seem, this cemetery tour brings the town’s history alive.
The February 17th and March 16th tours are SOLD OUT!
The tours start at the Pinal County Historical Museum (715 S Main St, Florence) at 10:00 am. Then all participants drive to the Florence Cemetery (14141 S Central Ave, Florence). Advanced registration is required.
Each tour is limited to 12 participants. Large groups, call 520-868-4382 about private tours.
