2026 Common Read (In-Person)

Join us in-person to discuss our 2026 Common Read book, Warrior Nurse: PTSD and Healing by Sarah L. Blum, on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 6pm-8pm PST. Warrior Nurse follows Sarah L. Blum's firsthand journey through the Vietnam War and her path to healing as a nurse veteran. 

We invite you to buy a copy of Warrior Nurse: PTSD and Healing or pick one up from your local library and read the book before joining us for this in-person event in Seattle. It is not required to read the book beforehand, but we strongly encourage you to do so! At the event, you’ll hear from Sarah L. Blum about her personal experiences during the war and her journey to healing as a nurse veteran. Community dialogue and Q&A will follow.

PeaceTrees' Common Read is an annual program that fosters mutual understanding and continuous dialogue about the many perspectives and ongoing legacies of the U.S.-Vietnam War.
