About This Event
Enjoy the outdoors and have time to share? Become a Volunteer Trail Manager for Steep Rock Association (SRA) and help care for nearly 60 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails.
Join us on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a training session for both new and returning Trail Managers. Volunteers steward a designated trail for one year, regularly checking for safety concerns, environmental issues, and performing light maintenance.
To kick off the season, SRA staff will host a one-hour indoor training, offered both in person and live on Zoom. Participants will learn how to assess trail conditions, perform basic maintenance, and use a GPS mobile app to report findings. In-person attendees will then head out for a guided hike to practice skills in the field.
Please bring hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and water. Families with teens are welcome; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. New volunteers should complete the Volunteer Registration Form in advance.
Photography and Recording Note: Portions of Steep Rock Association’s (SRA) events may be photographed and recorded. Your registration indicates consent to have any images or footage featuring you at the event to be used for SRA-related materials and outreach. Should images or footage appear on SRA’s communication channels that you don't wish to be featured in, you must notify SRA in writing, and we will cease to further use your image or footage for any new materials going forward.
