Meals on Wheels of Boulder’s Pickleball Palooza
Saturday, May 3, 2 pm – 5 pm at Boulder Pickleball
A fundraiser for Meals on Wheels of Boulder. Capped at 40 pickleball players, plus spectators, selfie photo both, food and beverages, and more!
Intermediate Open Courts:
- There will be two intermediate courts for open play.
- Games will be played to 9 for faster rotation.
- After a game is played, you will rotate out for the next group of players.
- Paddle stacks of four will be used to save your turn for the courts.
- You can play during the 2.5 hours of play time.
- Players with a 3.5 ranking or higher could also enter the Challenge Courts to play.
Beginners Court:
- One of the open play courts will be for beginners. We are asking all people to have at least played before and are not brand new.
- A list of places to learn how to play before the event will be available.
- Games will be played to 9 for faster rotation.
- Paddle stacks of four will be used to save your turn for the courts.
Challenge Courts:
The two challenge courts will be used for a competition open to players with a rank of 3.5 or higher.
- People who want to play in the challenge will sign up at registration.
- Players’ names will be chosen out of a bucket and teams will be established.
- The team who wins will stay on the court while the other team rotates out. Game is played to 11 as normal.
- Each win will get a point for each player of the winning team. The team who loses the game does have the option of putting their names back in the bucket to challenge again.
- There will be a whiteboard with your name and each time you win a game, you will place a hashmark.
- The top four people at the end will receive a prize! You are winning as individuals, not as a team.
