Poetry With Purpose is a live poetry event that brings together survivors, artists, and allies to share stories, raise awareness, and support HAVEN’s services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Guided by the message “Show up for the poetry. Stay for the purpose,” the event aims to sell tickets and fill seats, raise awareness for HAVEN, and secure sponsorships. It is designed to engage local arts and poetry lovers, survivors and allies, HAVEN supporters, local businesses and sponsors, and the wider community.

Why We Do This

HAVEN serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across Stanislaus County. We provide shelter, counseling, legal support, and education. But art offers something services alone can’t: a way to reclaim voice, visibility, and power.
