Begin your journey into family history with this introductory genealogy workshop. Learn how to get started with genealogical research, explore valuable resources for locating historical records and family documents, and discover tips for organizing your findings. Marilyn Murphy will also guide you through building a family tree using local archives, libraries, and online tools. This session is perfect for beginners eager to uncover their roots and preserve their heritage.
About the presenter: Marilyn Murphy holds Masters degrees in Library Science from the University of Iowa and in Educational Technology from the University of Northern Iowa. After working as a university library director for forty-five years, she retired and moved to Stevens Point to be closer to family. Marilyn now serves as a Volunteer Genealogist for the Daughters of the American Revolution.
