Post Production Workshop 2026

SUMMARY: Curious about a career in post and not sure where to start? This workshop is geared toward students and anyone with little to no experience who wants a practical introduction to how post production actually works. 

We’ll walk through what a Post Production Assistant really does, how a post team is structured, and how a project moves from production through final delivery. The goal is to break the process down, make it feel less intimidating, and give you a foundation you can actually use to get started.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

• Post workflows and team structures
• Post scheduling and how a project moves from production to final delivery
• A basic software overview of Premiere and Resolve
• Media management, hard drive organization, and creating stringouts
• The fundamentals of transcoding and encoding footage
• Administrative responsibilities and day to day support tasks
• Soft skills like reading the room, being proactive, handling sensitive material with discretion, troubleshooting, and knowing when to ask for help

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is for anyone interested in learning more about the different career paths in post. We’ll talk through tracks like PA to Assistant Editor to Editor, and PA to Coordinator to Producer, so you can understand what each role involves and how people grow into them.

If you already edit your own projects and want a better understanding of how professional post teams operate, this will help you see where you might fit and what skills to build next.

By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of the industry, what’s expected in an entry level role, and practical next steps you can take.
