Circleville to Chillicothe, OH — May 24, 2025 – On Saturday, May 24th at 10 AM, Chaplain Otto Ministries, a combat veteran-led nonprofit, will hold a one-of-a-kind Motorcycle Ride for Veterans, honoring both incarcerated veterans and veterans in nursing homes. The ride begins at Amvets, 818 Tarlton Road, Circleville, OH 43113, and features exclusive access to meaningful locations no other group in the nation is permitted to visit.

By special request of the VA Medical Center of Chillicothe, the ride will visit veterans in the nursing home wing — and by special permission from the Warden of Chillicothe Correctional Institution, it will proceed to the prison gates as a message of remembrance to veterans behind bars. These warriors are not forgotten.

“We see incarcerated veterans as today’s POW/MIA — prisoners of the war in their mind, missing in action from the families they love,” says Chaplain Otto. “And we see nursing homes as adult orphanages — full of veterans who deserve to be remembered.”

Last year, 260 motorcycles joined the ride. This year, over 500 riders are expected, making this not only a powerful act of service, but a major show of unity for those who served. All motorcycle riders are invited and the venue is open to the public, we will have exclusive artwork created in the prison for silent auction.

This is the only motorcycle ride in the country where you get this close to a prison with over 300 motorcycle riders and Chaplain Otto Ministries is the only organization to honor inmates who served in the U.S. military.

The event is part of Chaplain Otto Ministries’ larger mission to restore incarcerated veterans through its nationally approved anger management and trauma recovery program, aimed at reducing violence and suicide in Ohio’s prisons while making it a safer place for correctional officers. In 16 months we had 121 incarcerated complete our 13-week nationally approved anger management course across 5 Ohio prisons.
