2026 DSNMC Step Up Walk: Self Advocate Speech Writing Workshop and Rehearsal

This is the registration page for confirmed self advocate speakers for the stage program at the 2026 Step Up Walk. You will choose one of the two available workshop sessions to attend.  All of the speakers will attend the rehearsal session.

Attendance at one workshop is a requirement of stage program participation.

Workshop Option 1: Saturday, September 26th from 5:30pm-7:00pm

Workshop Option 2: Sunday, October 4th from 5:30pm-7:00pm

Mandatory Rehearsal: Sunday, October 18th from 5-8pm

Step Up Walk: Saturday, October 24th from 10:30am-2:30pm

The workshop and rehearsal are dropoff events and the cost is $10 per session per participant ($20 total).  All events will take place at Main Street in Poppy Boy's Kitchen. There will not be food served at the workshops, but you are welcome to bring your own snack and/or drink.  Dinner will be served at the rehearsal on October 18th.

If you have a laptop or other device that can be used for typing, please bring it with you to the workshop. We will have additional devices as well as paper and pencils available.

Speeches must be completed before the rehearsal on October 18th.  More instructions will be given to participants via email.
