Every fall, we ask each family to make a direct contribution to our PTA. These donations are our single biggest source of funds.

We know that every family has a different capacity to help us reach our goal of providing a high quality education for all our children and truly, every gift matters. Our goal is a community where we have 100% participation in our annual fund and we're asking for your help to get there!

The cost per child that the PTA needs to raise is approximately $800 annually or $66/month. However, not every family has the capacity to pay that amount, and those that can afford the cost of 2 children’s expenses ($1600) or more are critical to our success.

Here’s a rough guide to what different giving levels can help the PS84 PTA:

$140 ($12/month) - Environmental Science programming for one child.
$220 ($18/month) - The per-child cost of our teachers' aids.
$440 ($36/month) - The per-child cost of our teachers aids and recess aids.
$800 ($66/month) - The approximate cost of our per-child PTA spending.
$1600 ($133/month) - Covers an additional child.
$3000 ($250/month) - One month sponsorship of our librarian.
$7600 ($633/month) - One month support of PS84’s entire Environmental Science Program.

Many employers will match your giving at no cost to you. You don’t have to talk to your supervisor! We ask that you take the following steps to multiply your donation today.

Use Charity Navigator to search for participating employers and instructions for matching.

Employer not on Charity Navigator? They may still match. Just send an email asking about charity matching to your benefits coordinator (e.g. your HR person), and follow their instructions. It is frequently as simple as filling out a single form.
