On April 11, the Cultural Mile along North Tryon transforms into a vibrant, walkable arts experience - led by Charlotte Ballet, McColl Center, and VAPA Center. From afternoon to late night, explore studios, take a class, make art, and move through a full day of creativity across the district.
At McColl Center (3–9 PM):
Meet our Artists-in-Residence and step inside active studios
Participate in William Evans’s Requesting American(a) Property, a live archival project in his John O. Calmore Creative Activism Residency with SE CLT Gallery
Create your own print in our all-ages FREE printmaking workshop
Explore Light at the End of the Tunnel in collaboration with The Mint Museum
Then stick around:
8 PM - Outdoor screening of Wild Style on the lawn (with Independent Picture House)
Across the block:
Charlotte Ballet (1–5 PM) - free community dance classes
VAPA Center (5–10 PM) - live DJs, food trucks, artist activations + Night Market
Free and open to all. Come wander, make, watch, and connect.
