Writing Seahurst Summer Series: Landscapes- August 1 (12:00-2:00 PM)

Registration ends Friday, 07/31/2026 11:59pm PDT

About This Event

Join ESC and local writer, editor, and educator Gabriela Denise Frank for our new outdoor creative writing series this summer. This session will encourage attendees to slow down and connect with their bodies and senses in different landscapes throughout Seahurst Park. Our movable feast—a series of pauses in the forest, on the beach, and near streams and wetlands—will offer time to explore nature and to exercise and enliven our physical sensibilities as we write about each.

This program is best for ages 16+ with required registration. Nature journals and pencils will be provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies if you'd prefer!

About the instructor: Gabriela Denise Frank is a literary artist, editor, and educator. Her writing and visual art appear in Fairy Tale Review, Camas Journal, Northwest Review, EcoTheo Review, Puerto del Sol, The Rumpus, and "I Sing the Salmon Home," an anthology that celebrates the Northwest's iconic salmon. An avid gardener, budding herbalist, and crab molt surveyor, Gabriela calls Burien home. Sometimes, she writes without using all the letters. www.gabrieladenisefrank.com
