About the Author and Book
Dacre Stoker is the great‑grandnephew of Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, and one of the leading contemporary voices preserving and expanding his ancestor’s legacy. As an author, researcher, and historian, Dacre has dedicated much of his work to exploring the origins, influences and enduring impact of one of literature’s most iconic gothic novels.
He co‑authored Dracul (2018), a prequel to Dracula, drawing on Bram Stoker’s original notes and family archives to imagine the events that may have inspired the classic tale. In addition to his fiction, Dacre has written and spoken extensively on the history of Dracula, offering insight into its real‑world inspirations, Victorian context, and cultural evolution.
Through public lectures, global appearances, and curated exhibits from the Stoker estate, he brings a rare personal and scholarly perspective to audiences. His work bridges past and present, honoring Bram Stoker’s legacy while inviting new generations to engage with the mystery, mythology, and lasting influence of Dracula.
In 2026, All Pueblo Reads will celebrate Bram Stoker’s timeless classic Dracula, paired with its chilling prequel, Dracul.
Proceeds from this event help support the library’s mission of encouraging the joy of reading, supporting lifelong learning and presenting access to information from around the world.
