About the Foothills Naturalist Program:

The Foothills Naturalist Program provides adult participants with both ecological knowledge and a sense of community through outdoor experiential education opportunities on lands permanently protected by FCNC. 

About this course:

In Aquatic Ecology, participants will explore the biotic and abiotic factors that make Western North Carolina uniquely beautiful and biodiverse

Highlights include:

• Catching and identifying macroinvertebrates 
• Learning river flow terminology while enjoying the beautiful Henry Fork River
• Connecting with fellow community members in our shared love of our wild spaces!

What to Bring:

• Close toed shoes and clothing you can get wet!
• Water
• Sun protection
• Camp chair for comfort
• A journal and something to write with (we provide these if you don't have one)
• Sense of adventure

This event is free but registration is required and spots are limited!
