Stitching Revolution in Massachusetts: 18th Century Dancing
Date: Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29 – All Day
Location: Village Hall on the Common, 2 Oak St., Framingham, MA
Stitching Revolution in Massachusetts is a hands-on weekend blending quilting, history, and 18th-century dance, all in celebration of Massachusetts’ pivotal role in the American Revolution. Open to everyone—from experienced quilters and history lovers to curious visitors—this two-day event at the historic Framingham’s Village Hall on the Common, invites the community to connect through creativity, storytelling, and movement. Generously funded by MA250, the program highlights the Bay State’s rich Revolutionary heritage in an engaging and accessible way.
18th-Century Dancing – Saturday Night
Saturday, June 28 | 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Join us for a lively evening of 18th-century dancing with live period music in the beautifully preserved Village Hall. Each dance is taught by a caller—no experience needed. Period clothing is welcome but not required. Light refreshments will be served.
For those who might like to try wearing period dress, we have found some affordable items to purchase that are similar to what men and women wore in the 18th century:
