About This Event
Each December, Richmond Animal League (RAL) hosts Operation Silent Night (OSN), a transformative adoption event dedicated to finding homes for every pet in our care. During this extended holiday campaign, adoption fees are significantly reduced, shelter hours are extended, and hundreds of families visit RAL searching for their new best friend. Our goal? To empty the shelter by December 21, so every animal is home for the holidays.
Your sponsorship is essential in making this happen.
By supporting Operation Silent Night, you directly contribute to the well-being of the animals in our care and help us provide the following:
- Medical care and veterinary services to ensure every animal is healthy and ready for adoption
- Spay/Neuter surgeries to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent overpopulation
- Vaccines and microchipping to safeguard their health and well-being
- Reduced adoption fees during OSN (Nov. 28-Dec. 21), lowering the cost for families ready to open their hearts and homes to a pet
Your Impact, Their Future
Operation Silent Night is one of RAL’s most visible and widely shared campaigns of the year, seen across a broad audience, including:
- 38,000+ Facebook followers
- 19,000+ Instagram followers
- 20,000+ email subscribers
We’ll also promote this life-saving event through TV and radio coverage, engaging the entire community. With your support, we aim to close our shelter doors on December 21st knowing every RAL pet is home for the holidays.
Celebrate the Joy!
At the close of Operation Silent Night, we celebrate the beautiful silence of an empty shelter with our Luminary Ceremony on December 22nd. This meaningful event honors the pets who have found new families and the people who made it all possible. The public is invited to purchase luminaries in honor or memory of the special pets and people they hold dear. These luminaries will fill the empty kennels as we reflect on the impact of your support.
But our work doesn’t end there. After the holidays, RAL’s rescue van sets out once again, transporting animals from overcrowded shelters to ours, where they will begin their journey to finding a family.
