Weston/Wilton Forest Reserve Hike

Join Aspetuck Land Trust Executive Director David Brant for a hike of the newly opened Weston Wilton Forest Reserve (WWFR) a 750-acre interior forest Aspetuck Land Trust has been working hard to assemble on the Weston Wilton border. This is an opportunity to see its newest addition – the 15-acre Plummer property, preserved last December and formerly owned by the late actor Christopher Plummer and his wife Elaine who was instrumental in preserving this land through a generous donation to ALT. This is a hike of intermediate difficulty. We will be meeting at the interior parking lot at the Daniel Offutt Gateway to the WWFR at the end of Upper Parish Drive in Weston. Set your GPS to Upper Parish Drive, Weston, and drive to the end of Upper Parish Drive where you will see a gravel driveway. Follow 500 feet to an internal parking lot.

On the hike you will learn about the new Plummer addition and how other recently protected properties were added to the forest reserve and the importance of this large intact interior forest. Along the way, David will share more about Aspetuck Land Trust’s approach to conservation and our plans for future conservation in our region.

Things you may want to bring: binoculars, camera, water, hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, sturdy shoes
