About This Event

Join our efforts to eradicate the invasive French broom tree on Rana Creek Preserve!
Bring your gloves, bring a friend, and help us restore and protect our native landscape by assisting our team in the removal of the invasive French broom trees. This pesky tree grows rapidly enough to outcompete surrounding native plants & trees, increases fire risk and intensity, is toxic to livestock, and degrades soil.
Ages 15 and up. Reservations are required.
DETAILS
- Meet at the West Gate by 9:45AM. NO LATE ARRIVALS
- Driving directions linked here.
- Event is from 10am-2pm.
- Bring snacks and a lunch. Some bottled water and small snacks will be available.
- Backcountry - no bathrooms available during event. Bathrooms will only be available at the conference center when the event starts and ends..
- Wear personal protective equipment like closed-toed shoes, long pants, and sun protection.
- Bring gloves if you have some. If not- we can provide a pair.
- Bring a weed wrench if you have one - we have limited tools.
- Ages 15 and up. If under 18 you MUST come with a parent or guardian.
- Reservations required.

SAFETY

Remember to bring enough water and snacks for each person and pet in your group (it is recommended you bring 1 liter for every 2 hours of hiking/person)

Access to shade will be available and short breaks will be provided.
Event activity is subject to change due to current weather conditions, but will continue rain or shine.
