About This Event
Join us for our 2026 Crankie Info/Inspiration Session with Marla Goodman and Sue Truman!
WHAT IS A CRANKIE?
A crankie is an ancient story telling device, consisting of a moving panoramic art scroll accompanied by music or a story. The scroll is cranked to move the story along, hence the name crankie. The crankie is an analog antidote to our fast-paced digital world. It enables intimate, slow, carefully crafted storytelling–and is utterly captivating.
WHAT IS THIS EVENT?
In this free informational and inspirational session we'll be learning from wildly creative and experience Crankie artists Marla Goodman and Sue Truman. They will discuss many aspects of the crankie-making process, from inspiration to finished product, and show a variety of examples. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and begin percolating ideas for the 2026 Crankie Festival.
WHO IS INVITED?
Anyone interested in the crankie-making process! Attendance does not require participation in our annual Crankie Festival, but it certainly opens the door for it! This crankie informational session is free and open to the public.
WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?
SUNDAY, MAY 17 10:00 AM - 12:30PM
10am - 11am: Sue Truman Zoom Presentation (attendees will view the presentation together, in person)
