Red Top Steelhead Event 2026

The partnership between Red Top and Cast Hope began over a decade ago, when Red Top owner Mike Curran and Cast Hope founder Ryan Johnston first met while fly fishing the Sacramento River. That day sparked a lasting friendship, built over years of chasing trout, steelhead, striper, and bass across Northern California.

Driven by a shared love for fly fishing - espeically for steelhead - Mike and Ryan eventually teamed up to create a fundraising event aimed at introducing more kids to the outdoors through the sport. What began as a passion project has grown into the Red Top Trinity River Steelhead Event, now a cornerstone of Cast Hope's Northern California efforts.

As we look ahead to our sixth year, we're proud to continue hosting this memorable fishing getaway for members of the electrical community-all while supporting a cause that helps the next generation connect with nature.

Join us for an unforgettable fly fishing experience on the Trinity River. Each fall, anglers from around the world travel to the Trinity River for its reliable steelhead returns, stunning scenery, and intimate mountain setting. Towering forests, cold clean water, and aggressive fish make the Trinity a world-class steelhead destination. We'll spend our days tarteting deep runs and pockets, typically hooking 4-6 steelhead per day. These wild fish average 5-10 pounds, with the largest topping out around 15 pounds.

This trip includes:

• 3 nights lodging at Indian Creek Lodge in Douglas City, CA
• Two full days of guided steelhead fly fishing on the Trinity River
• All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
• Beer and wine included
• Red Top thank you swag package

Not Included:

• Travel to and from the lodge
• Guide gratuities
• Optional cash buy-ins for tournament games
