Join curator Marty Two Bulls Jr. for a conversation exploring Tailings and the stories that inspired the exhibition. Uŋči Makȟa Nakičiŋži, which translates to Protect Mother Earth, centers on Lakota knowledge of the Black Hills and current conservation efforts.
From 6–7pm, Marty Two Bulls Jr. will be in the Adelstein Gallery for a curator talk and Q&A. At the same time, the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance will lead a children's watershed demonstration in the Cyclorama, offering a hands-on way for young visitors to explore connections between water and land.
From 7–8pm, culture bearer James Star Comes Out will present on sacred sites alongside the Black Hills Clean Water Alliance. Coloring pages and educational infographics will be available for children during the presentation.
Bring your relatives, your neighbors, and your curiosity for an evening of connections between art, land, culture, and community.
