The Visionary Award
Celebrating an exceptional leader whose innovative vision and commitment have expanded the conversation around mental health

Robert Accordino, MD, MSc

Robert Accordino is an executive, entrepreneur, and practicing physician whose career spans clinical medicine, health policy, and mental health innovation.

He most recently served as Chief Medical Officer of AbleTo and Senior Vice President of United Health Group, and is currently Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College. Under his leadership, AbleTo scaled to all fifty states and served over 200,000 patients annually with evidence-based, insurance-accepting mental healthcare integrated with physical health services. Following AbleTo's acquisition by United Health Group, Dr. Accordino led the company's integration as the senior-most member of the team, and continues to serve as an adviser.

In 2016, he was appointed to the White House Fellowship, through which he advised two Secretaries of Defense on healthcare delivery and payment innovation for service members and their families. For this work, Robert received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. He was named to Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Emerging Leaders in 2020, and founded the nonprofit Music for Autism as a first-year medical student in 2007.

The Cornerstone Award
Recognizing an ICP community member whose leadership, character, and dedication inspire all who know them

Gary Jacobson, LCSW

Gary Jacobson has been a beloved presence in the ICP community since completing his psychoanalytic training in 1999.

A clinician in private practice for more than three decades, he has served ICP in nearly every capacity: as a supervisor, faculty member, and longtime co-chair of the SICP Weekend Committee. A published author and former adjunct instructor at NYU's Steinhardt School, he is currently a member of both the PCGS Program's Executive Committee and the Psychoanalytic Program's Training Committee.

Whether it's an analytic presentation, a happy hour, or an SICP weekend, Gary shows up, and has done so with remarkable consistency for more than twenty-five years. His devotion to ICP and his generous spirit have made him the kind of colleague, supervisor, and teacher whose influence stays with people throughout their careers.
