About This Event

See the World Differently.

Established in 1976, Lighthouse Central Florida has spent half a century walking alongside people who are blind or visually impaired, helping turn uncertainty into confidence and goals into reality. As we mark 50 years of service, innovation, and community, we invite you to be part of the celebration.

Raising Our Sights is a complimentary community breakfast bringing together neighbors, advocates, and friends for a morning of connection, storytelling, and shared possibility. Hear directly from Lighthouse clients and families, and from the community of people who show up for them every day. This is what 50 years of impact looks like; and this is your invitation to see it firsthand.

This year, we’re honored to welcome Keynote Speaker Kyle Coon, author, two-time U.S. Paralympian, and one of the most genuine voices in the room when it comes to resilience, community, and life lived without limits.

Kyle’s story begins at ten months old, when he was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer affecting both retinas. By age six, he had lost his sight entirely. What came next is a testament to what’s possible when community, mentorship, and determination come together: mountain summits, Paralympic podiums, and a life defined not by limitation, but by purpose. Kyle chronicled that journey in his memoir, Discovering a Life Without Limits, and continues to bring that message, with humor, honesty, and hard-earned wisdom, to audiences across the country.

Raising Our Sights is more than a morning out. It’s a chance to experience, maybe for the first time, the power of what this community makes possible. We hope you’ll join us.
