Join us for a three part lunch and learn webinar series in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! We will take an in depth look at the principles of trauma informed care and why this approach is necessary when working with survivors. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the impacts of trauma, how trauma responses may present, and their role in supporting survivors as they heal from the violence they experienced. We'll also discuss accessible, actionable steps and strategies to apply trauma informed practices in your day to day work, especially as part of systems that may not be survivor centered. Resisting Re-Traumatization When Working Within Systems

In this 45 minute webinar we will:
- Explain how systems can cause harm and re-traumatize survivors
- Reflect on your role, limitations, and responsibilities within the system
- Explore strategies to make accessing support, resource navigation, and service provision more trauma informed for service users
October's session of our Trauma Informed Workplaces Training Series, open to those in a leadership role in social service organizations, will connect with this theme of trauma informed care. We'll discuss how to build resilience with staff who serve survivors of violence and explore strategies to prevent vicarious trauma. More information here: https://www.stepsvt.org/trainings
