The Safe(r) Adult Training

About This Event

This 12-week virtual training equips adults with essential skills to prevent child sexual harm by influencing their environment in subtle, intentional ways. Designed for parents, family members, caregivers, educators, and community members, this program empowers participants to recognize and interrupt boundary-crossing behaviors, respond compassionately to disclosures, and create safer environments through clearer, more accurate conversations with other adults. By focusing on personal and community influence, this training provides innovative tools to address and transform our spheres of influence—helping prevent harm before it happens or before it happens again.

Program Details:

Start Date: Early March 2025 Schedule: Weekly two-hour sessions on Zoom (12 weeks total)
Day/Time: Both morning and later afternoon Eastern Time Zone (TBD)
Price: $700
Format: Circle-based, small group of ten participants total. Experiential, Lecture and Readings.
Keepers: Elizabeth Clemants, Taylor Yess and Denise Kerth

In Safe(r) Adult Training, you’ll examine the personal and interpersonal barriers that can prevent action and learn practical techniques to foster safe, healthy interactions that strengthen connections. While no personal sharing of trauma is required, the sensitive nature of this work means discussions about child sexual harm may naturally arise. Facilitators will provide guidance in an individual welcome call to introduce the circle format, designed for inclusive and respectful participation. This training supports diverse learning styles through information exploration outside of class, skill-building exercises with trusted allies, and circle discussions where everyone has a chance to listen and share. The circle format fosters a non-judgmental space for personal reflection and meaningful change.
