Presented by Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation

Library Night Live - Sponsor

Registration ends Thursday, 04/30/2026 11:59pm PDT

About This Event

Join us for an evening of wine, conversation, and laughter — all in support of the Santa Barbara Public Library's literacy programs.

The event will feature special guest author Max Greenfield, known for his roles in New Girl and The Neighborhood, and the author of beloved children’s books including I Don’t Want to Read This Book, This Book Is Not a Present, and Good Night Thoughts. His work celebrates the humor, challenges, and triumphs of learning to read, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the Library’s literacy mission.

The evening will transform the Michael Towbes Library Plaza into a comedy-club–style experience under the stars, complete with sparkling lights, glamour, and a touch of glitz—showcasing the Plaza as a vibrant destination for community fundraising events. Guests will enjoy four immersive, book-themed booths, each thoughtfully paired with wine and culinary bites to savor throughout the night. This unforgettable celebration will mark the very first signature evening event on the Plaza, and you will be among the first to experience it's potential come to life.

Library Night Live will benefit the Library’s free literacy services, including one-on-one adult and family tutoring, early childhood storytimes, English conversation groups, GED and citizenship preparation, and job-readiness support. Each year, these programs serve more than 175 learners and thousands of community members—providing critical access to education, confidence, and opportunity for individuals and families across Santa Barbara.
