Sara & Camp Friendship

Sara Schmidt, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and cherished friend and colleague in ASB, unearthed her profound passion for empathy during her volunteer work at Camp Friendship in the early 2000s. Camp Friendship owned and operated by True Friends, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities. There couldn't be a more fitting tribute to Sara's legacy than supporting Camp Friendship and continuing the invaluable work she held dear.

Sara Jo-Wittkowski Schmidt, 40 years young, of Alexandria, Minnesota was taken from us, due to an unforeseen heart attack on May 21, 2023. For the past eleven years, Sara worked at American Solutions as a senior data analyst. She enjoyed her work, and her quick wit made her good at it. She was very smart and if she didn’t know the answer to a question or problem, she would certainly find it.

The combination of Sara’s intelligence and deep care for people made her irreplaceable and she is greatly missed.
