About This Event
New this year, We Care Tucson is launching Tech Trek Camp, a four-week advanced summer program designed for high school students entering grades 10–12. Tech Trek blends hands-on STEAM learning with leadership development and real-world career exploration. Participants engage in immersive technology and robotics projects that build skills in engineering design, programming, electronics, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving, while exploring STEAM career pathways through field trips, guest speakers, and exposure to local businesses and organizations.
In addition to technical training, students participate in a Counselor-In-Training leadership track focused on communication, conflict resolution, inclusion, mentoring, and teamwork, with opportunities to earn First Aid and CPR certification. Led by experienced mentors and passionate professionals, Tech Trek creates a fun, inclusive environment that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and prepares students with practical skills, leadership experience, and a clear pathway from learner to leader for future education, careers, and paid peer-mentor opportunities with We Care Tucson.
