Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus: Our Family’s Lent Journey
Lent has become a meaningful and intentional season for our family, a time to slow down, reflect, and prepare our hearts for Easter together. As parents, each year we ask ourselves why Lent matters to us and how we can live out our faith in ways that help our children better understand Jesus and his love.
Footsteps of Jesus has become a meaningful part of our Lenten journey. Each day, our family engages with Bible passages and reflections in creative and interactive ways that point to the wonder of Jesus. These moments open the door for thoughtful conversations and help our children connect Jesus’ story to their own lives.
As we walk through Lent together, we often pause to reflect:
During Lent, we encourage our children to be especially mindful of how they treat others and to look for small, everyday ways to express God’s love, whether that’s offering a kind word, sharing with a sibling, helping a neighbor, or showing compassion to someone in need. These simple acts remind us that following Jesus isn’t just about what we believe, but how we live.
Rather than rushing toward Easter, Lent invites us to be intentional, creating space for prayer, reflection, and action as a family. Through the daily readings in Footsteps of Jesus and the conversation that follows, our faith in Jesus grows, and we are reminded that Jesus’ journey of sacrificial love encourages us to actively love others more deeply.

As Easter approaches, our prayer is that this season continues to shape our hearts and guide us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus with purpose, compassion, and love.
