Fall Nembutsu Seminar with Rev. Dr. Takashi Miyaji | What is the Purpose of Buddhism?
Saturday, October 17th | Japanese: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM | English: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
In this talk, we will explore what the purpose of Buddhism, or religion for that matter, is trying to address. Is Buddhism about bettering the self? Is it a set of practices that provide a way of relaxing the mind? I aim to show that the real purpose of Buddhism is about the world of transcendence connecting to us, and affirming our place in the eternal now. This gives us an assurance and hope that enables us to live fully in our lives, with a deep sense of gratitude.
Registration is free, however donations are gratefully accepted. Suggested donation of $10 for BCA or Seattle members, and $20 for non-members. Youth 18 & under are free.
This seminar will take place hybrid, either in-person (Temple Hondo) or via Zoom. Zoom link will be sent in your email confirmation.
