Mushroom Cultivation Workshop 2026

Do you like mushrooms? Are you interested in growing your own? Join us Saturday, April 18th at the park for a hands-on workshop where you will learn all about how to grow your own mushrooms on logs.

This workshop will cover the basics of growing mushrooms on logs in your own backyard. We will focus on shiitake, however the techniques can be applied to a number of other mushroom species. Tony Miga, who has been cultivating log-based shiitake for 10+ years will lead the workshop and share everything you need to know, including guiding you through the process of inoculating your own log, tree selection, sourcing supplies, and how to care for your log. 

You ticket includes:

- 2 hour workshop
- All of the supplies you will need
- Inoculated log to take home

No experience necessary. Wear clothes appropriate for working with small power-tools, no loose-fitting clothes. Boots or close-toed shoes are recommended.
