The Sickle Cell Tennis Classic has been a Delaware institution for nearly 50 years.

Each summer, the event showcases intense competition as well as a strong sense of community, as players and spectators flock to Wilmington tennis courts. This fund-raising tournament, benefitting Nemours Children's Health, is driven each year by the participation of over 200 players along with the donations from spectators and the community at large.

Every donation will go to support Sickle Cell research and education at the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours Children's Health. Partner with us as we seek to make a difference for children with sickle cell disease across the Delaware Valley.

About Sickle Cell Care at Nemours:

Sickle cell disease is a condition that causes problems with red blood cells — instead of round discs, they look like crescent moons or sickles. It’s a genetic condition (can be passed from parent to child) so we often see new or expecting parents. Some sickle cell treatments can begin early — even while your baby is still in the womb. Our hematology experts and care teams in the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders work together to address the needs of your child and family as you learn to manage sickle cell. We give your child a medical home for preventive care, and coordinate the specialists you need each step of the way.

Give from Your Donor Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock, and, in some cases, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity.
