About Us

ourBRIDGE for KIDS is a Charlotte nonprofit that promotes the education, acculturation, and well-being of refugee and immigrant families through out-of-school programs and comprehensive, culturally responsive wraparound support to hundreds of families from around the world.

That's Novel Books is a local independent bookstore that has created a welcoming reading community through its Silent Book Club and other events. Located in Camp North End, a revitalized industrial park, the used bookstore offers a wide selection of formerly loved books, a section of new books, and a curated collection of titles by local Charlotte authors.

FAQs

What is Silent Book Club?
This event follows the Silent Book Club format: we'll spend 45 minutes reading quietly together, with time before and after to connect with others, enjoy good food, and learn more about ourBRIDGE's work.

What should I bring?
Weather permitting, we'll be outside. Seating at our picnic tables is limited, so we encourage you to bring a lawn chair, blanket, or other comfortable seating. Light refreshments, snacks, and water will be provided. Don't forget to bring a book you'd like to read, or choose one from our 2026 Recommended Reading List.

Do I need to read a specific book?
No! You're welcome to bring any book you'd like to read. If you're looking for inspiration, you can also choose a title from our Recommended Reading List.

Where does my ticket purchase go?
Thanks to the generosity of That's Novel, 100% of your $10 pass will be donated to ourBRIDGE, supporting programs for immigrant and refugee children and families.
