About This Event

Skills for Life: An FASD-Informed Transition Curriculum

Build skills. Understand your brain. Find your strengths.

Are you a teen or young adult with FASD who is getting ready for life after high school? Join Proof Alliance for Skills for Life, an interactive, 6-month skills group designed specifically for individuals with FASD ages 14–21.

Together, we'll explore what it means to understand your brain, recognize your strengths, advocate for yourself, build healthy relationships, manage emotions and stress, solve problems, and navigate everyday life with greater confidence.

This curriculum was shaped with input from people with lived experience of FASD whose experiences and perspectives helped inform the development of the program.

Throughout the program, participants will:

  • Learn more about their unique brains, strengths, and support needs
  • Explore how FASD can affect everyday experiences
  • Practice self-advocacy and communicating what they need
  • Learn strategies for managing emotions, stress, and unexpected challenges
  • Build communication, relationship, boundary, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Explore identity, strengths, goals, and what success means to them
  • Practice everyday life skills
  • Learn how to identify and use supportive people and resources

This Is a Cohort

This is a commitment—not a drop-in group.

Participants will join a small cohort of approximately 10 teens and young adults and are expected to attend the full series. Each session builds on skills and conversations from previous sessions, so regular attendance is an important part of the experience.

Earn Up to $60!

We want to recognize participants for showing up and investing in themselves.

Participants will receive $5 for every session they attend, added to a gift card.

  • Attend the first 6 sessions: Earn $30
  • Attend all 12 sessions: Earn $60 total

Gift card funds will be provided at the halfway point and again at the end of the program.
