Make new friends and learn something new at our annual Laugh, Learn, & Lunch program at Camp Kinard. Pegi Roberts leads this educational program with Rev. Dr. Harvey Huntley serving as guest presenter. Together, we'll learn more about the story of Black Lutherans in the Southeast with a viewing of Unsung.
Unsung: A Chronicle of Black Lutherans is the latest feature documentary by Fisher Films. It tells the history of Black Lutherans in the Southern United States as one not tainted by the sin of slavery, but as a story of faithfulness, hope, restoration, and empowerment.
The ELCA's Region 9 Crumley Archives is committed to the task of telling the story of this rich history of Black Lutherans that until now has too often gone...unsung.
This episode also highlights the experiences of current Black pastors in SC and gives consideration to the challenges for Black ministers serving in an historicallypredominantly white denomination. To learn more, we invite you to visit FisherFilms.net.

GUEST PRESENTER BIO: Rev. Dr. Harvey Huntley serves as vice president of the board of the James R. Crumley Jr. Archives, chair of the personnel committee, chair of the property task force (relocation), and chair of the major gifts committee for the capital funds appeal for the Archives. Prior to retirement, he served for 16 years as regional coordinator in Region 9 of the ELCA. Huntley is a retired ELCA pastor after 45 years of ministry and now belongs to Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in West Columbia. He currently live in Hopkins, SC, in lower Richland County. He is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, with a major in English literature, and of the University of Chicago Divinity School, with a Doctor of Ministry degree.
