Beverly Gooden is an award-winning writer, activist, and creator of the viral social media movement, #WhyIStayed. Her debut memoir “SURVIVING: Why We Stay & How We Leave Abusive Relationships” was published in June 2022. She has been interviewed on Good Morning America, NPR’s On Point and All Things Considered, among other outlets and in her personal time, works to provide emergency escape bags to victims and survivors in need. She resides in Houston, TX with a family of small geckos that live on her back patio.
