Spring Awakening

Registration has ended

About This Event

We celebrate the arrival of spring and the reopening of our garden with a vital blend of art, culture, and community. All are welcome for a free afternoon of family-friendly activities, including spring-inspired, hands-on art making with our friends from The Shine Studio and the opportunity to collaborate with artist Pia Leighton to weave the JoyField installation, a visitor favorite. At 1:00 pm there will be a special garden walk with landscape designer Geoffrey Nimmer and a 2:00 pm tour of the art in the garden will be guided by docent Amy Kanengiser, offering a unique opportunity to reconnect with the natural world and the creative vibrancy of LongHouse. The afternoon will close with the enchanting sounds of the sitar with musician Gian Carlo Feleppa.

Together, we will awaken the garden and usher in the season.

This April 18th, LongHouse is pleased to participate in the second edition of International House Museum Days, connecting historic house museums and the homes of illustrious figures from around the world. See a full list of participating sites here.

Admission for this day is free but reservations are encouraged.
