Presented by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation

Spring Theater Benefit

Damon Runyon Spring Theater Benefit – May 1, 2024 Dinner 5:00 pm | Performance 7:30 pm

Join us on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, for our Spring Theater Benefit featuring a performance of the new musical Hell’s Kitchen, an urban coming-of-age story inspired by the life and music of its creator, 16-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Alicia Keys.

In Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in the 1990s, 17-year-old Ali is desperate to get her piece of the New York dream. Despite the warnings of her protective mother, the symphony of the street calls to her—promising freedom, excitement, and the possibility of love. When Ali falls for a talented young drummer, both mother and daughter must face hard truths about race, defiance, and growing up. Ali feels trapped, until the sound of a neighbor playing piano opens the door to an unexpected friendship and a radically different future.

At our pre-theater dinner at The Lambs Club, you'll meet brilliant young scientists funded by Damon Runyon and hear how your support makes an important impact on cancer research. To purchase tickets for this Theater Benefit, please click the Get Tickets button or for more information, please contact Kim Kubert, Senior Director of Special Events, at kim.kubert@damonrunyon.org or 212.455.0501.
