South Shore Food Bank's FOOD FIGHT

About This Event

FOOD FIGHT!

Food brings people together.

We are gathering gourmet alchemists: celebrity chefs, home chefs, food truck chefs, and culinary students, who will test their skills, wits, and creativity in a live battle for the Food Fight Champion title.

Event highlights include:

  • Cook-Off: Watch as local chefs in four categories—restaurant, student, food truck, and home—compete to secure a spot in the final round. The winner will go head-to-head with our celebrity host, Chef Stephen Coe!

  • Chef's Choice Market: From the best pickles to the hottest sauces, discover exceptional artisanal vendors.

  • Food Trucks: Featuring Perfectly Flavah'D Cafe, Crust Crusaders, CJ's Creation Station, Lobsta Love, and Artisan Pig.

  • Live Music: Enjoy tunes that set the perfect vibe for an epic event.

  • Kids Zone: "All Things Food" fun with the Boston Boltz and meet Wally the Green Monster!

  • Photo Booth: Capture memories with friends and family.

  • Silent Auction: Bid on exciting items to support the cause.

  • Beer & Beverage Garden: Sample locally brewed IPAs, refreshing fruit sours, and more.

  • Branded Event Giveaway: Take home a piece of the celebration!

Fun for a cause, this family friendly event aims to support food access work around the south shore, while celebrating the diverse food culture on the South Shore.

"Best In Class" Artisanal Food Vendors

As the signature fundraising event for the South Shore Food Bank, we wanted to celebrate all things food while forging new creative collaborations for a food secure community.

Meet our Celebrity Chef Stephen Coe!

Stephen Coe is a nationally recognized and award-winning chef, best known for his victory against celebrity chef Bobby Flay in “Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay” on the Food Network. Whether in the kitchen or one of his many food trucks, Chef Coe is known for his culinary creativity and ability to compete at any stage against any competition.

Chef Coe’s other notable accomplishments include his “Chopped: Ultimate Redemption” win in 2019, winning the Grand Prize in the Food Network’s “Tyler Florence Recipe Contest” and the American Culinary Foundation’s “Boston Junior Chef of the Year.” He also holds the titles of “World Bacon Champion,” winner of the “World Food Championships” and “Grill Master” from the popular Food Network series "Chopped Grillmasters."

Coe is a graduate of the prestigious culinary arts program at Johnson & Wales University and completed a certificate in French food and language at Institute François des Alpes in Annecy, France. He previously served as executive chef at Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills and BOKX 109 American Prime at Hotel Indigo and is currently the executive chef of the Marshfield Country Club.

He is a strong advocate of sustainable agriculture, sourcing his own honey and seasonal vegetation from local farms around the South Shore of Massachusetts. Chef Coe volunteers his time and talents at the Boston and Rhode Island food banks, Share Our Strength, the Matt Light Foundation, Hockey Cure for Kids, the Boston Rescue Mission and Meals on Wheels.

Meet our Judges

Laurie Hepworth

Editor, Edible Southeastern Massachusetts

GSELE9199.jpeg

Laurie Hepworth has been celebrating local food, drink, and great times through the edible Southestern Massachusetts magazine since 2008.

The magazine highlights local chefs, and the best place to eat, or buy local ingredients, with tried and true mouthwatering recipes. As a long-time curator of all things local and food, and as somebody who cares about hunger, Laurie is going to be a judge who is both compassionate and kind, but tough to impress.
