In the heart of Madagascar, where the forest hums with life, one woman is changing the course of history for a species once thought lost. Maholy Ravalohariman has spent years fighting to bring the Greater Bamboo Lemur back from the brink of extinction—not with force, but with empathy, education, and unshakable determination.
Through her leadership, entire communities have become conservation allies. She empowered women to lead and inspired children to see lemurs as a vital part of their shared future.
A crucial part of Maholy’s project involves reforestation. In 2021 alone, they planted over 48,000 trees. Their reforestation projects are conducted by local communities, from tree production in the nursery to the transplanting and monitoring of the trees after they are planted. The tree species planted are based on the lemur’s diet and the local communities' needs for their everyday life.
But Maholy’s work isn’t done. Your support can help build schools, equip rangers, provide tools for women’s conservation groups, and restore the forests lemurs call home. With every tree planted and every life protected, you become part of this extraordinary movement.
Donate today. Protect the future.
